What is Awana?Awana is a Bible-based, Christ-centered program for children. The goal of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and to train them to serve Him. The word Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

Where does Awana meet?Awana Clubs meet in the youth room at New Life Christian Church.  New Life is located at 272 Lowell Road (3A) in Hudson, NH just south of Walmart and Sam’s Club.

When does Awana meet?Awana meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00pm starting September 23rd and running through May 26th.

Who can participate in Awana?Awana is for all children age 3 through Grade 5.  There are three clubs designed to meet the needs of different age groups:

Cubbies:  Cubbies is a 2 year preschool program for children ages 3-5. Each night is designed around a particular Bible theme. Club time includes story time, crafts, games, songs and handbook time. The handbooks provide Bible memorization and are geared to encourage parental support. Cubbies wear blue vests with accompanying awards. Cubbies also teaches preschool concepts, such as numbers, colors, shapes and letters.

Sparks:  Sparks is a 3 year program designed for Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades. Sparks includes a fun firefly character named Sparky. Sparky and friends lead the children through the ranks of the Hang Glider, Wing Runner and Sky Stormer while encouraging and motivating clubbers through handbook achievements, games and crafts. The handbooks include Bible memorization and Bible centered activities. Sparks wear red vest with accompanying awards.

Truth and Training (T&T):  Truth & Training (T&T) is a 3 year program for 3rd - 5th grades. Our goal is to teach these older children the truth of God's Word and train them to serve Him in their daily lives.  The handbooks in this age group teach Bible memorization and life application. These club members wear a green t-shirt with a badge to place awards.

What happens during Awana? Our weekly children’s ministry is designed to give boys and girls, age 3 through 5th Grade, the opportunity to build lasting friendships, establish positive role models, and provide practical life lessons in a safe and fun Christian environment.   Each club night is divided into three segments:

Handbook Time:  Small group interaction and completion of Bible-based activities and scripture memorization

Game Time:  Age-appropriate games played on the Awana game circle

Council Time:  Singing, Bible messages, testimonies, and award presentations.

How much are Awana dues? The yearly dues for Awana Clubs is $30.  This fee helps cover our costs for uniforms, handbooks, awards, and supplies.  Financial assistance or payment plans are available for those in need.
